CAT Coaching
CAT, or the Common Admission Test, is conducted in India for admissions to IIMs and other top B-schools. CAT is typically held once a year, usually on the last Sunday of November. The CAT exam is a computer-based test (CBT) with a duration of 120 minutes (2 hours) and a total of 66 questions. It consists of three sections:

- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC): This section assesses candidates’ English language skills, including reading comprehension, sentence correction, vocabulary, and grammar.
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR): This section evaluates candidates’ ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets and make logical decisions based on them.
- Quantitative Ability (QA): This section tests candidates’ mathematical and problem-solving skills, including topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, etc.

Each question is of 3 marks. There is a -1 marking for every incorrect attempt. No marks are awarded or deducted for not attempting the questions. The number of students appearing for the CAT each year has been consistently high. In recent years, it has ranged from around 2 lakhs to 2.5 lakh test takers. To be eligible for the CAT exam, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). There is no age limit for taking the exam.
